The beds were comfortable. The towels were soft and fresh. Breakfast was hot and delicious, waiting on us to sit and eat! Host and hostess even sat down and ate with the group of overnighters!
The Mary Penn Bed and Breakfast is a hidden gem in Gettysburg. It is perfect for staying outside of the crowds but close enough to the battlefield and other history related tours. The grounds are well maintained with deer and fox being a visitor on occasion. I recommend this to any couple looking to get away for a mini week or weekend, those getting married and wanting a small intimate ceremony or those simply wanting another option!
The house, built in 1793, is perfectly located WAY off the beaten path - nestled between soy and sunflower fields. The creek babbles away, the birds sing to one another and the crickets softly serenade anyone willing to slow down long enough to listening.
